So what’s my Digi POV? Some people wanna know. (If your name is Bernice, you know what I mean.)
So first up: Digital does not equal Web. Digital means connecting experiences. Connecting people. Connecting advertisers and consumers. Everywhere.
And that means connecting at one foot (yup, that mobile or smart phone in your pocket). At two feet (the screen you’re likely looking at this very moment). And at 10 feet (the TV monitor you’ll watch from your sofa to catch the network program you recorded on your PVR, or the x-Box game you’ll play afterwards).
And, oh yeah, it means connecting to the out-of-home media you’ll come across more and more like that Bluetooth- or QR-enabled billboard or the interactive changing room at your favorite fashion retailer, or the Cart Companion in the grocery store.
Why? Because today digital is about engaging your customer and making it personal. And that’s what it takes to be interactive. Truly interactive.
The days of static web pages or banner ads are being left behind by a consumer demanding relevance and engagement. And with apps from Firefox that can zap your banners into works of art, there better be some new thinking to replace it.
More on ways to make this real in the next post. Keep on reading.
